Who can feature your clips

The short answer

Only OpenClips can feature your clips in Community, and only if you turn on Feature my clips in Community in Settings. The switch starts off, and while it is off your work is never featured.

Only OpenClips, only with your yes

Clips in Community are picked by OpenClips. Your clips can be picked only when you have said yes, and nobody else can feature them.

Saying yes is a standing permission for OpenClips to pick your published clips for the community feed. The switch publishes nothing by itself.

Where the switch is

In Settings, open Featuring and use the switch beside Feature my clips in Community. The switch starts off. Press the switch again any time to change your mind.

  • On a computer, Featuring is in the list beside your settings.
  • On a phone, scroll down your settings to Featuring.

Sharing is not featuring

When you share a video, its link opens a page for that one video. Sharing never puts it in the community feed, and the Featuring switch never changes a link you shared.

The clips you see in Community

Some clips in Community were made on OpenClips. Others are trending posts from other creators, rebuilt as workflows, with the original credited on the clip’s page.

Questions

Is featuring on when I sign up?

No. It stays off until you turn it on in Settings, under Featuring.

What happens when I turn it off?

OpenClips stops having your permission. Off means your work is never featured.

Does turning it on publish my clips?

No. The switch only gives OpenClips permission to pick from your published clips.
