ExplainerMarketing Studio
Templates and the plan they need
The short answer
The Templates in Marketing Studio open on the plans that include Marketing Studio, and one of those plans opens every ready-made ad. On any other plan you can still watch every Template, and its preview shows the plans that open it.
What a Template is
A Template is a ready-made ad. The look is set, and you add your product. Templates are grouped in Marketing Studio: on Explore in the App menu, and on the Marketing Studio tab of the composer’s picker. The Marketing Studio page shows every Template with a sample.
Which plan opens which Templates
Here is every plan, as OpenClips serves it today, with the Templates it opens:
| Plan | Templates it opens |
|---|---|
| Free | None |
| Starter | None |
| Creator | Every Template |
| Pro | Every Template |
| MAX | Every Template |
| Team Pro | Every Template |
| Team MAX | Every Template |
The pricing page compares the plans side by side.
What a locked Template shows
On a plan without Marketing Studio, each ad on Explore carries a lock with the plan that opens it. An ad still plays in full when you open it. Where you would add your product, it shows Make this ad with your product, the plans that open it with the cheapest picked, and one button to that plan’s checkout. In the composer, a locked Template shows a strip with Unlock.
After you change plan
Once the plan is yours, the locks are gone. Open the ad again, add your product and press Generate. See Make an ad from a product link.
Questions
Can I watch a Template without the plan?
Yes. Every Template plays on every plan. The plan is needed only to make the ad with your product.
Do I need a plan for each Template?
No. One plan that includes Marketing Studio opens every Template at once.
Does a Template cost credits on top of the plan?
Yes. Each ad is paid in credits, like any render. Your plan’s monthly credits pay for it. See How credits work.
Can I make an ad without a Template?
Yes. Write a prompt in the composer and add your product photos as references. See Use reference photos and videos.
